To retain their highest-value customers, airlines need to provide attractive, comfortable, and up-to-date pre-flight and layover facilities for esteemed travel club members. When rolling out a new brand, Delta Air Lines sought out ECH to design a new, expanded, high-end lounge at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The new 7,000 square-foot lounge was to be built on the roof on an active International Terminal—requiring extensive collaboration among several stakeholders to ensure uninterrupted operations. We tackled structural and mechanical upgrades, including a new elevator. The new Delta Sky Club Lounge design also included a media center, full-service bar, work areas, cyber bar, relax and recharge areas, a food service counter, and restroom facilities. Thanks to close collaboration with our client, the Port of Seattle, and the contractors, our design team was able to meet exacting requirements, adhere to Delta’s updated brand aesthetic, and keep the terminal running smoothly.
