When the United States Coast Guard needed a new administration and communications hub at their Integrated Support Command in Seattle, ECH was brought on board to design and construct the 58,000 square-foot facility. It includes a Secure Sector Command Center and functions as a Joint Harbor Operations Center, which is responsible for tracking vessel traffic control throughout the Pacific Northwest. The facility includes a state-of-the-art distribution and datacenter, and shared communications with 40+ federal, state, and local agencies. It meets DOD Minimum Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection requirements and received a U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Silver Rating for New Construction. The facility also earned the Society of Military Engineers’ Seattle District Gold Award.
